SAT/ACT Test Prep — Building a Connected, AI-Driven Prep Platform. We partnered with an edtech innovator to build an intelligent, multi-stakeholder platform for standardized test preparation—bringing students, parents, and teachers into one shared experience. A platform designed to deliver personalized practice for exams like the SAT and ACT, while making progress, accountability, and content operations simple to manage behind the scenes.

Standardized test prep is crowded with tools, but most are designed for a single user: the student. This project was about building an ecosystem—one platform that supports the day-to-day reality of learning, guidance, and accountability across students, parents, and educators.

We partnered with an edtech innovator to create an intelligent test prep experience that feels personal for students while remaining legible and actionable for the adults supporting them.

A multi-stakeholder product, not a single-user app

Students get personalized practice sessions for exams like the SAT and ACT, with adaptive difficulty that responds to performance. Along the way, they receive clear analytics on progress, strengths, and gaps—plus AI-powered explanations that help turn missed questions into understanding.

Parents and teachers aren’t an afterthought. Parents can monitor progress and manage subscriptions, while teachers can oversee multiple students, review classroom-level analytics, and customize learning paths based on what the data is actually showing.

Personalization that stays practical

The goal wasn’t “AI everywhere”—it was creating a feedback loop that’s useful in the moment. We integrated an AI model to support real-time guidance: explanations, insight generation, and adaptive practice that adjusts difficulty as students improve (or struggle).

That same foundation powers the reporting layer: the platform translates performance into signals that students can act on and adults can interpret quickly—without requiring anyone to be a data analyst.

Multi-tenancy built for real-world workflows

Multi-tenant systems get complex fast when stakeholders need different permissions, different dashboards, and different levels of visibility. We designed role-based access so each user type—student, parent, teacher, admin—gets the right view of progress and the right controls.

This architecture supported linking families and classrooms cleanly, while keeping the experience intuitive and secure across the entire product.

Operations and maintenance were part of the product

A platform like this lives or dies by content quality and the ability to ship updates without friction. We built a lightweight middleware layer that parses client-provided test documents and imports questions into the database—designed to scale as the library grows.

The system supports complex content formats, including LaTeX for math-heavy questions, so the content pipeline doesn’t break when the material gets real.

What we delivered

We executed the work through a structured, milestone-based build: core portals for each stakeholder, analytics and dashboards, authentication and secure data architecture, subscription payments, and a comprehensive admin panel for managing users and test content.

The result is a unified prep platform that meets distinct needs without fragmenting the experience—and gives the client durable tools to operate and expand the product...
